How do I start an event? 

It’s easy to start an event online. To get started, choose your event name and follow the next steps. If you’ve been in touch with Ovarian Cancer Canada in the past, chances are that you already have a username and can log in as a returning supporter.

 

I’d prefer to create an event and fundraise offline, without a webpage. How do I go about it?

How do I join an event?

Can a friend join my event to help fundraise?

Absolutely! Send them the link to your event page and ask them to click “Join event.”

 

How do I collect donations for my event?

To collect donations directly for your event, send potential donors the link to your event page and invite them to click “Donate now.”

If there is more than one person fundraising for your event, you may wish to share your story with donors on your personal fundraising page. Your sign in information can be found in the confirmation email you received when you joined the event. When your page is ready, send a link to your potential donors and invite them to donate. These funds will contribute to the grand total featured on your event page.

 

How do I promote my event?

What if I forget my username or password?

You can retrieve your username or password in a few simple steps.

  1. Go to the login page
  2. Click “Forgot username” or “Forgot password”
  3. Enter the email address that you used to register
  4. Check your inbox for an email. These messages can occasionally end up in spam or junk mail folders, so please be sure to have a look.

 

What is the Participant Centre?

The Participant Centre is where you can:

  • Update your personal information
  • Customize your personal fundraising and team pages
  • Import your contacts and send fundraising, recruitment, and thank you emails in a few clicks
  • Set your personal and team fundraising goals and track your progress
  • Promote your involvement and fundraise on social media
  • Add offline donations to your fundraising tally

 

How do I send a fundraising email from my Participant Centre?

  1. In  Participant Centre and choose the “Email” tab
  2. Select “Other,” then “Create your own”
  3. Enter your subject line in the “Subject” field
  4. Write your message
  5. Select “Next” and list recipients. You can enter email addresses manually or select them from your Address Book
  6. Select “Next” and then press “Send”
  7. Save your message as a template to use it again later

  1. Sign in to your Participant Centre and choose the “Email” tab
  2. Choose the type of email you wish to send, then select “Next”
  3. Customize the subject and body text as you wish
  4. Select “Next” and list recipients. You can enter email addresses manually or select them from your Address Book
  5. Select “Next” and then press “Send”
  6. Save your message as a template to use it again later

 

Do donors receive tax receipts?

Charitable tax receipts are issued for donations of $20 or more.

  • Online donors receive electronic tax receipts as soon as their donations are processed. These emails can get caught in spam or junk folders, so please check that they haven’t been marked incorrectly by your email provider. Those donating by cash or cheque will receive mailed receipts by December 31 of that year.

Why wasn’t my credit card accepted?

Please check that the credit card number, expiry date, and cardholder name are entered exactly as they appear on the card. Kindly note that Visa Debit is not accepted at this time.
