Welcome to My Personal Page!
I am walking in memory of Laurie McLeish, a former soccer teammate who exemplified team spirit and fair play, and three very special women from the Heritage College community: Ginette Dubois, who was the assistant to the former Director General; Helen Smyth, who was a NewMedia & Publication Design Professor, and Kim Tysick, who was our former Academic Dean. They all lost their battle with ovarian cancer, a disease that is difficult to diagnose until late stages.
In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. This year, I am walking for HER.
I am walking because ovarian cancer affects communities. It’s certainly touched my life, and it needs to be stopped.
This walk is special to me because it honours women and families touched by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope that I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research.
Please support my Walk by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, please consider joining me. Together we can make a difference.
