PoleWalkers for a Cure
It was overcast at Royal Roads for our Walk today, but there was great warmth from the large crowd of survivors and supporters who showed up. I was very pleased to have a number of PoleWalkers for a Cure Team members and friends walking with me. - This year's theme said it all - "No Woman Walks Alone".
I want to thank everyone who supported me and the team during our fundraising this year. A Round of Appplause goes to the PoleWalkers for a Cure - the top fundraising team in Victoria and one of the top 25 teams across Canada. This year we raised $9,105. for Ovarian Cancer. I am so proud. In the three years since the team started fundraising, we have raised a total of $18,044. We could never have done this without your support - your donations, attendance at our trunk/ bake sales, auction, picnic, music event and more - you are always there for me.
Together we raise awareness, support women living with ovarian cancer, not just newly diagnosed women, but those with occurences. We support the badly needed research. Today, Dr. David Bond told us about the research into immunotherapy here in Victoria. It is so promising and we are so close. With it many more women will longer, fulfilled lives.
So thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
