Patty Cakes Team needs your help!
As many of you know I have been fighting this fight for over 12 years! The last 6 years have not been easy and it's been filled with 5 surgeries, countless hours of visits to the hospital, stays at the hospital and in 2015 I had 18 weeks of Chemo. With only a year between reoccurrence again in 2017 I was back in for surgery. This time leaving me with an ostomy and new medication. 2018 lead me to Calgary for surgery number 5 and 13hrs under the knife. I had 4 different types of chemo in 2018 and 2019. I continue to fight everyday!
The most amazing things happen when you are very sick and they are not all bad! You meet many, many people, those that are willing to help you from family, friends and even strangers. People is what makes this world a better place!!
Even this walk in Saint John was started by two strangers. One who lives everyday with Ovarian Cancer and the other who lost a loved one to Ovarian Cancer. It forever changes you no matter what your Journey is! We all have one thing in common though, we want every female to have testing to detect Ovarian Cancer early, we want better treatments, we want good support for our selves and our families no matter what stage of our cancer is at and most of all we all want a cure.
It's a passion of mine to bring awareness to everyone and help provide funding to Ovarian Cancer Canada so we all may someday benefit from their research on Ovarian Cancer.
Donate today and make a difference!
Join us on Sept 8th @ Fishers Lake, Saint John starting at 9:00am
In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. This year, I am walking for HER.
I am walking because ovarian cancer affects communities. It’s certainly touched my life, and it needs to be stopped.
This walk is special to me because it honours women and families touched by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope that I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research.
