Walking to help raise awareness and find a cure!
In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. Each of these women is central to a family and every one of these women have people who love her.
I’m walking in memory of my Mom, Shirley, who was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2012. She lost her battle two years later. Ovarian cancer is the deadliest of all women's cancers. There currently is no test for ovarian cancer, which results in many women being diagnosed at more advanced stages of the disease.
Joining me will be my daughter, Olivia (she will be 13 the day after the Walk and it will be her 7th walk) and my wife, Nadine (who also lost two good friends to the disease and will be walking in her 11th walk).
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research. Recent research funding in the federal budget ($10 million!) and your donations are going to help change the Ovarian Cancer story.
Please support my Walk by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, please consider joining me. Together we can make a difference.
