Welcome to My Personal Page!
In June of 2018, I was part of a delegation sent to Parlement Hill to lobby several Ministers of Parlement and ask for an investment of $10 million for Ovarian Cancer Research. By God's grace, my delegation had a surprise meeting with the Health Minister, Ginette Petitpas-Taylor with whom I shared my journey and was able to raise awareness about ovarian cancer and it's limited treatment options. We were blessed that our work came to fruition when the 2019 Budget earmarked a $10 million investment into Ovarian Cancer Research! It is a step in the right direction but as a survivor, I still have to wait for a concrete treatment option to come through.
As you all know, ovarian cancer has changed my life. After recurrences, this disease is part of my life and I am walking for a cure to the chronicity of ovarian cancer. I am walking in the hope that ovarian cancer may never affect another woman's life. I am asking you to support me as I walk towards a cure for this terrible disease that ravages the lives and bodies of women touched by this disease and their families. Thank you in advance for your generosity to this cause so close to my heart!!
In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. This year, I am walking for HER.
I am walking because ovarian cancer affects communities. It’s certainly touched my life, and it needs to be stopped.
This walk is special to me because it honours women and families touched by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope that I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research.
Please support my Walk by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, please consider joining me. Together we can make a difference.
I thank you in advance for your generosity towards finding a cure!
