Barb FIGHTS BACK!
Well, it's that time of year again, to ask our wonderful family, friends and colleagues for support with this year's Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope, and our BARB FIGHTS BACK team.
Since we started we have raised over $60,000 for Ovarian Cancer Canada's relentless mission to raise awareness and find ways of conquering this nasty disease: the most fatal of women's cancers.
This year, John would really like you to hear from Barbara.........herself.
It has been over a year and a half since I have been on the new Clinical Trial drug Olaparib…..all 16 capsules a day working well. All evidence of Ovarian Cancer is shrinking every 3 months I have a CT, my “GPS” to what is happening in this body.
I owe a huge Thank you to all of you that have supported research and new drugs to treat OC. Without this my beloved Olaparib would not exist and I would not have been allowed precious time with my husband and family, my biggest treasures.
Such wonderful strides forward have been made in research and new drugs, allowing better treatment and extending the lives of women with OC.
I thank John for his constant support in “our” journey and Thank You, for allowing me to treasure each new day.
With heart-felt thanks,
Huge testimony to the need for more research dollars......not only for treatment, but for better diagnostic tools. This year, the team is determined to match and hopefully exceed the great results of our last five Walks. Will you help with our passion about raising awareness?
In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. 2800 more are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. This year, I am once again walking for HER, my beloved Barbara.
We really need your support!
Can I count on you to help us? Please support my Walk by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge on September 8, please consider joining us for the Walk at Spencer Smith Park, 8:30 a.m.,in Burlington.
Together we can make a difference!
