Barb FIGHTS BACK!
Well, it's that time of year again, to ask our wonderful family, friends and colleagues for support with this year's Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope, and our BARB FIGHTS BACK team.
Since we started we have raised over $50,000 for Ovarian Cancer Canada's relentless mission to raise awareness and find ways of conquering this nasty disease: the most fatal of women's cancers. Barbara is really winning the fight.......having had another recurrence in the past year, she’s already richly benefitting from a new, still-in-research-stage Clinical Trial. After only a few short months, her indicators are already looking solidly better!
Huge testimony to the need for more research dollars......not only for treatment, but for better diagnostic tools. This year, the team is determined to top the results of the last four Walks. As Barbara continues with her own personal fight against ovarian cancer (and happily is again in remission), will you help with her passion about raising awareness?
We are happy, and frankly humbled, to tell you that this year Barbara and I were the first couple ever to win the Virginia Greene award, for our work on this vital cause. In case you're interested, you might want to have a look at our "performance" on Vancouver Breakfast Television on the morning of the award presentation. You can see it here:
In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. 2800 more are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. This year, I am once again walking for HER, my beloved Barbara.
We really need your support!
Can I count on you to help us? Please support my Walk by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge on September 9, please consider joining us for the Walk at Tansley Wood Park (a new location!) in Burlington.
Together we can make a difference!
