In early 2014, my mom was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. After a long, tough battle against it with chemo, she beat the odds and the cancer was able to be surgically removed successfully just before Christmas, 2014. She starting fighting again after a recurrence and continues to impress us with her strength and attitude.
In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. This year, I am walking for HER. I am walking because ovarian cancer affects communities. It's certainly touched my life, and it needs to be stopped.
This walk is special to me because it honours women and families touched by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope that I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research.
Please support my Walk by giving generously. :)
