Welcome to My Personal Page ~ Jayne Stickle (Captain- Team Serena)
In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. This year, I am walking for HER.
I am walking because ovarian cancer affects communities. It’s certainly touched my life in 2014 when I lost my dear friend and most wonderful teaching partner Serena Yersh. She passed on her 42nd birthday after a short 7 week battle. It was heart wrenching to see what this disease can do, and it is still difficult to process that she is no longer with us.
This walk is special to me because it honours women like Serena, and families touched by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope that I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research. This is one of the ways I can continue to honour Serena. I miss her very very much and think of her so often.
Please support my Walk by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, please consider joining me. Together we can make a difference.
Sincerely, Jayne xo
