I'm walking for ovarian cancer patients on September 9
As some of you may know, three very close friends of mine have been affected by ovarian cancer. Thanks to all the great work being done by Ovarian Cancer Canada (and others), all three of them are now cancer-free, and back to living happy, healthy, productive and fulfilling lives.
Some 2,800 women in Canada are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and for many, the outcome is still not good. Cindy Cowan, after whom my team is named, was a passionate activist and fundraiser for the cause. Sadly, she lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 2013.
For all the women touched by this disease, I'll be joining thousands of others at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope on September 9 at Woodbine Park in Toronto.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness, and fund vital research so that we can change the future for the women we love.
I know all of you have your own charities to support, but a donation of any amount is much appreciated.
Thanks very much!
