Walk for the Women We Love
This upcoming year will be my family and I's 8th year participating in the Ovarian Cancer Walk. My Mom's sister, Maribel, passed away last June 7, 2017, after battling ovarian cancer for almost 6 years.
We first joined the Ovarian Cancer Walk in 2012 because I saw a television ad for the walk so I pointed it out to my mom and she thought it was a great idea since the year before my aunt, Maribel, was diagnosed in December of 2011. And ever since then we had been attending the walk and raising funds for this worthy cause.
Our main reason for walking has always been my aunt, but in September of 2015, my mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer but was early detected and now cancer-free. That year we walked for the both of them. We will continue to walk for my aunt and my mom who are important to me and for all the women who have been touched by Ovarian Cancer and celebrates the hope for a future without this disease. I have also donated my hair three times ever since I became aware of this disease.
Please support me by giving generously. I also invite you to join our team on September 8th, Sunday 9 am at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver!
