Yay ... Team Lumbie!
Hello Sunflower Friends:
Just read my letter from last year & what a difference a few months can make. First of all, I'm now into my 10th month of taking the maintenance drug Olaparib & I am definitely feeling well & I'm told looking well. Ha, ha. The care received at Princess Margaret Cancer Hospital in Toronto has been exceptional. So caring, compassionate & yes, hopeful, is so much a part of their treatment programme. My oncologist at the KGH is still very much involved in my care & I am grateful for her medical advice & continued concern.
Your fundraising efforts last summer & into September have been very fruitful over the last several months. Many research projects & clinical studies have been given the go ahead & government funding has finally been approved for $10 million dollars. Hallelujah. Awareness of Ovarian cancer is finally making the news! And we can do more.
So dust off those teal hats, T-shirts & beads & mark Sunday, September 8th on your calendars for a communal walk at Lake Ontario Park. Pray for a warm, sunny day too. I'm looking forward to an early spring, a long hot summer & a chance to see all my fellow supporters over the next few months.
My mantra continues to speak for itself......Hope Never Disappoints. Hugs, Janice.
