Our Supernova Sandy
Last year my precious friend, Sandy, was lost to ovarian cancer. Sandy bravely fought to overcome her cancer through constant research, healthy eating and living choices, and a driving curiosity that led her to try different approaches to maintaining her wellness. Her efforts undoubtedly led her to live a longer life after diagnosis, but it wasn't enough to allow her to beat her cancer. More is needed.
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year. Our goal is to bring both funding and attention to this disease with the hope that one day soon a cure will be discovered. To achieve this, we need your help. You can do so by giving generously to our campaign. Better yet, please join our team in the 5km Walk of Hope on September 8. This year in particular, the one year anniversary of Sandy's passing, we have set an ambitious goal of raising $100,000.00. Every dollar we raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness, and fund vital research so that we can change the future for the women we love.
The Walk celebrates the hope we carry with us every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Together we can make a difference.
