Welcome to my personal page!
When mom went into the hospital for a partial hysterectomy in 2000, she was assured that there is no way she could have cancer. 'You're in too my pain to have cancer" they said. Once in surgery the gynecologist was surprise to find mom "full of cancer". He quickly engaged the oncologist and removed as much as they could, but not all. This is why it's called the SILENT KILLER. It is so difficult to detect, and even more difficult to cure. Eighteen years later we are all so grateful to have her with us and that she has a rare form that didn't require extra treatment. We all know the statistics were not in her favour and most women are not as fortunate as my mom.
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year.
Each of these women is central to a family. Every one of these women has people who love her. Just being there to support and honor her means everything. That’s why I’m participating with thousands of others at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.
The Walk celebrates the hope we carry with us every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness, and fund vital research so that we can change the future for the women we love.
Please provide your support by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, come out and join me. Together we can make a difference.
