Welcome to my personal page!
I will be participating in the Ovarian Cancer Walk of Hope at Kildonan Park on Sunday, September 8. Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year. Unfortunately, the survival rate for Ovarian cancer is not as good as other forms of cancer. There is no early screening test for this form of cancer and because of this the cancer is not detected until the disease has advanced.
My sister, Judy, passed away in 2012 from this disease. She had hoped that she would survive and be able to advocate for funds to find a cure. Every year since her death I have done the walk in her memory and continue her hope that no other sisters, wives, mothers or friends will be lost to this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity that champions the health and well-being of women with ovarian cancer and others at risk of this disease.
Please provide your support by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, come out and join me. Together we can make a difference.
