Welcome to my personal page!
Hi everyone - Well it's that time of year again - fundraising for Ovarian Cancer Canada through our Walk of Hope which is on September 7th this year.
It's hard to believe it will soon be three years since my surgery and I am doing so well I have gone back to work full time. Someone has to keep Mark in the style he has grown accustomed to.
It has been a good year - visits back to Ontario to see family including my granddaughter Laura's second birthday, Mark's family reunion and lot of nice time with my Mom. I was also honoured this year to be part of the committee which organized the first Ladyball in Charlottetown. Unfortunately I was not there to enjoy the evening as I was in Italy - a two week trip to Tuscany which was wonderful.
But now it is almost September and time for the Walk of Hope. The Walk celebrates the hope I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness, and fund vital research so that we can change the future for the women we love. This cancer is seriously underfunded and underresearched - there is so much that could be done with more money.
Thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and so many more will be diagnosed. Each of these women is important to someone. Every one of these women has people who love her. Just being there to support and honor her means everything. That’s why I’m participating with thousands of others at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.
Please provide your support by giving generously if you can. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, come out and join me, either in Charlottetown as many of my friends here will. Or join a walk near you - they are all across the country. Remember together we can make a difference.
