Time to Ovary-Act
So, real-talk for a minute: My mom passed away this March. She didn't know she was sick. She didn't know there was anything wrong until it was too late.
Ovarian cancer is extremely difficult to test for, making it hard to catch early. When I was reading facts from Ovariancanada.org to Mark one recent evening, he said, "I'm sorry science continues to fail women." That hit hard.
So can we change it? With all the crap we already have to deal with, do we really need to be scared of our own bodies turning on us?
This fundraiser is one small step, or however many steps are in 5 kilometres, but I feel like it helps. I feel like it means something.
Thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and according to statistics, another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year.
I hope I have your support. And if so, here's where I humbly ask for some money. Your donations will be used to fund vital research, spur advocacy efforts, and provide support so that we can help women with, or at risk of, ovarian cancer, live fuller, longer lives.
Thanks for your help.
