Sometimes you choose your battles and sometimes the battle chooses you.

Dear friends and family,
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year.
In April 2017 I joined this statistic when my doctor said the words no woman or her loved ones ever wants to hear. The biopsy results were in, referral made to the Tom Baker Cancer Center and a radical surgery was scheduled. The most painful part of it all was seeing in my husband eyes the contemplation of what the outcome could be. It was too hard to speak the words to my parents, I had to write it down in a letter. You just never think it could happen to you or in your family.
Each of the women diagnosed with Uterine and/or Ovarian Cancer is central to a family. Having my ‘village’ rally around to support me and my family meant everything. That’s why I’m participating with thousands of others at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.
The Walk celebrates the hope I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity that champions the health and well-being of women with ovarian cancer and others at risk of this disease. Funds will be used to fund vital research, spur advocacy efforts, and provide support so that we can help women with, or at risk of, ovarian cancer live fuller, better, longer lives.
Please provide your support by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, come out and join me. Together we can make a difference.
With my deepest gratitude for your contribution to this cause dear to my heart,
Nicole
