Welcome to Brenda's personal page!
To all my dear family and friends (I have many I'm truly blessed and feeling the love during this stressful time in my life) As you all know I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February of this year and I'm currently ungoing chemotherapy treatment to kill this horrible disease. As my cancer has spread I'm told there is no cure. As I have a sister, three young nieces, great nieces, grandaughters and many friends who have daughters who are very close to me I would like to hope some day there will be a cure for ovarian cancer so no other woman will have to go thru the battle that I'm now facing along with many other canadian woman.
On Sunday September 8th, 2019 I hope to participate in The Walk of Hope here in Kingston, Ontario my home town. I may not be up to walking but will be taking my mobility scooter and joining other ladies who have suffered from ovarian cancer to raise funds to find a much needed cure. I'm having a hard time asking each of you to go on the Ovarian Cancer Walk of Hope web site and donate under my name Brenda Lewis what ever you can any amount would be so apprecited by me and my fellow ladies. I know I won't see a cure in my life time but I'm hoping others will. Please feel free to pass this message on to all your families and friends and maybe they will donate too.
If anyone would like to join me on September 08, 2019 the more the merrier!
Love you all thanks for your support.
Please read below.
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year.
Each of these women is central to a family. Every one of these women has people who love her. Just being there to support and honour her means everything. That’s why I’m participating with thousands of others at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.
The Walk celebrates the hope I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity that champions the health and well-being of women with ovarian cancer and others at risk of this disease. Funds will be used to fund vital research, spur advocacy efforts, and provide support so that we can help women with, or at risk of, ovarian cancer live fuller, better, longer lives.
Please provide your support by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, come out and join me. Together we can make a difference.
