Our team "Trudy's Troupe" is walking because ovarian cancer affected us when my mom, Trudy Richard (Nixon,Lafond) passed away in January 2015 after a 6+ year fight. This affects mothers, grandmothers, daughters, aunts, nieces in all types of communities. It’s certainly touched our lives, and we need to help stop it.
In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. This walk is special to our team. It honours women and families touched by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope that we carry with us every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar our team raises supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research.
Please support our team with your donation. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge on September 11th, please consider joining us. We’d be proud to have you walking as a member of our team.
The more we talk, the more we help. Together we can make a difference.
