In Cathie's Honour
Cathie Hong-Louie fought ovarian cancer with stoic and staggering bravery for almost a year. At 57, in November of 2015, ovarian cancer took her life.
Ovarian cancer is the most fatal women's cancer.
In Canada, every 3 hours a woman is diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Every 5 hours we lose a woman to the disease. More than half the women diagnosed do not live to see another five years. These survival rates haven't improved in 50 years because shortfalls in research funding are stalling scientific progress against this disease.
Over the past three years more than 100 people have participated “In Cathie’s Honour” in walks in Vancouver, Ottawa and Toronto, raising awareness and over $21,000 in her name. This year we will be walking in Hamilton too.
Please join friends and family in honouring Cath at this year’s Walk for Her. The Ovarian Cancer Walk of Hope. Cathie never gave up hope.
And, please donate. Every little bit helps.
