2019 Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope in Burlington/Oakville, Ontario

Team Serena

In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. This year, our team is walking for HER.  We are TEAM SERENA.

We are walking because ovarian cancer affects communities. It’s certainly touched our lives, and we need to stop it.

On April 29th 2014, we lost our dear friend, colleague and cherished daughter Serena Lynn Yersh after her 7 week battle.

This walk is special to our team because it honours not only Serena, but other women and families touched by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope that we carry with us every day – the hope for a future without this disease.  We also walk to represent Serena's parents Wally and Irene.  Irene has been in the hospital for quite some time and walking is something she is working toward achieving again one day.  And so, on Irene's behalf, TEAM SERENA will walk for her too!!

Every dollar our team raises supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research.  As an educator, we know that Serena would support this dearly.

Please support our team with your donation. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, please consider joining us. We’d be proud to have you walking as a member of our team - TEAM SERENA.

Together we can make a difference.
