Thank you so much for your interest in the Ovarian Cancer of Canada Walk of Hope! As you may have heard I am cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with stage IIIC ovarian cancer in September 2017. Since then I underwent two surgeries and 6 cycles of chemotherapy. Thankfully with God's grace and support from family, friends and even strangers, I am now over a year in remission.
Maybe a lot of you will wonder why it was almost too late (Stage IIIC) when my cancer was detected as I have the same question when I was diagnosed. It is for the simple reason that there is not one specific symptom and test for ovarian cancer. In my case I have several signs/symptoms that are common to other diseases or conditions which made it hard to diagnose the cancer. Paptest does not screen for ovarian cancer.
And because I have experienced the pain brought by the cancer and I care for all the women out there, I want early detection and cure for ovarian cancer. I want a specific test/screen for ovarian cancer. We can be one step closer to this medical development by supporting ovarian cancer research. I am participating in this Walk of Hope as as I know it will save thousands of women in the future.
Please join me to increase awareness and further ovarian cancer research by participating and/or by donating in the Walk of Hope.
Thanks again and may God bless us all!

Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year.
Each of these women is central to a family. Every one of these women has people who love her. Just being there to support and honor her means everything. That’s why our team is participating with thousands of others at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.
The Walk celebrates the hope we carry with us every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar we raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness, and fund vital research so that we can change the future for the women we love.
Please provide your support by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, come out and join us. Together we can make a difference.
