Welcome to my personal page!
Three years ago, our community mourned the death of one gutsy, smart, beautiful, loving and beloved young woman, Maria Wilkie. Maria is one very important reason why I’m participating with thousands of others across Canada at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.
This year the Walk will be held on Sunday, September 13th. I'll be participating once again as a member of ‘Team Wookie’ at Royal Roads University, Langford, walking to honour Maria’s memory and in support of women and families affected by ovarian cancer. One of those women is my friend Linda's niece Holly. I'll be walking for Holly as well. Team Wookie's efforts are aimed towards a time when ovarian cancer is a disease of the past.
My goal this year is to raise a minimum of $250. Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness, and fund vital research so that we can change the future for the women we love. You can donate at ovariancancerwalkofhope.ca; click on Donate and then do a search for my name.
Please donate generously. And, if you are up for a challenge on September 13th, come out and join Team Wookie! Together we can make a difference. Thank you so much for your support!
