Welcome to my personal page!
I started Afshan’s Army last year after months of coming to terms with an uncommon ovarian cancer diagnosis. In the past year I've undergone three surgeries and six rounds of chemotherapy. Everyday I think of my teal sisters and the fact that only half of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer will survive beyond five years.
Surrounded by a loving network of family and friends – my army – I joined my first Walk of Hope last year, a week before starting chemo. I found purpose from my diagnosis in committing to raising money for Ovarian Cancer Canada and advocating for research funding. As I enter survivorship, I can't think of a better way to mark this milestone than once again participating in the Walk of Hope.
So please donate if you can, or even better, join my army!
