This has been a very busy but wonderful summer for me. I was able to visit my family at their homes and end the summer with everyone getting together and celebrating life at our cottage, for the first time in 3 years.I am aware, however, that my outcome is still not the norm for most women diagnosed with advanced stage ovarian cancer.
That’s why I’m participating in the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope this weekend in spite of my initial plan to skip this years event. I know the future can be brighter for all women diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I am now 8 years post diagnosis and entering my 7th year of a clinical trial, living proof of the possibilities on the horizon for other women facing ovarian cancer.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada. Funds will be used to fund vital research, spur advocacy efforts, and provide support so that we can help women with, or at risk of, ovarian cancer live fuller, better, longer lives.
