Welcome to My Personal Page
The Shirley Strong team will participate in the Ovarian Cancer Walk of Hope with the same tenacity and determination that our hero Shirley bravely showed during her battle with stage 4A ovarian cancer.
It is with profound sadness that we announce Shirley’s passing on April 6, 2021.
Shirley’s story is not unlike other women who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. No symptoms to indicate that this disease was growing at a ferocious pace and metastasizing. Pleural effusion was the only symptom she experienced – and sadly, too late.
The Shirley Strong team are pledging to run and ATV 18 kilometres, which reflects the number of months that Shirley endured this horrible disease.
We will continue to honour her legacy by raising awareness. To share and educate our Grandmothers, Mom’s, daughters, sister’s, Aunt’s and friends about the signs and risks of ovarian cancer. To advocate for early detection tests. To support ongoing research. To encourage genetic counselling to save future generations of women.
Awareness provides hope. Hope provides a future.
Hugs and kisses, stars for wishes
We miss you, Shirley
