Welcome to My Personal Page
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 3,100 will be diagnosed this year. A good friend of mine has recently been diagnosed with this disease. I was on the Board of the Canadian Bar Association's Women Lawyers Forum for 10 years and chaired it both provincially and nationally for four of those years. We choose Ovarian Cancer as our annual community cause because it is for women and is underfunded compared to breast and other cancers.
Each of the women who have this disease is central to a family. Every one of these women has people who love her. Just being there to support and honour her means everything. That’s why I’m joining the thousands of other participants at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.
The Walk celebrates the hope I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity that champions the health and well-being of women with ovarian cancer and others at risk of this disease. Funds will be used to fund vital research, spur advocacy efforts, and provide support so that we can help women with, or at risk of, ovarian cancer live fuller, better, longer lives.
Please give generously. Better yet, this year’s Walk will happen in communities large and small, all across Canada. While this year due to covid, the walk is a virtual event, I hope to be walking with friends at 10AM on Sunday, September 12 at Queen Elizabeth Park.
If you wish to join me, please let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org. I would love company. Together we can make a difference.
