Over(re) And Out

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer just over four years ago And it’s been a wild ride. I’ve tried to find the best quality of life I can but the effects of this disease can be devastating both for me and my family. I’m overjoyed to be here and participating in this important  event.

I’m about to start a new formulation of a drug that I was previously allergic to.  Four years ago I was denied funding for this drug but our donations helped bring this change about.  With so much amazing research on the horizon i’m hoping you’ll feel inclined to donate. Since the last run our family has found out that many of us, my children and many of my brothers’, have the BRCA mutation and so will be dealing with the possibility of breast, ovarian or prostrate cancer.

Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year. Each of these women is central to a family. Every one of these women has people who love her. Just being there to support and honour these women means everything. That’s why our team is participating with thousands of others at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.

The Walk celebrates the hope we carry with us every day – the hope for a future without this disease.

Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity that champions the health and well-being of women with ovarian cancer and others at risk of this disease. Funds will be used to fund vital research, spur advocacy efforts, and provide support so that we can change the future and help women live fuller, better, longer lives.

Please provide your support by giving generously. Together we can make a difference.
