Welcome to My Personal Page
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 3,100 will be diagnosed this year.
My sister, Heather, is one of the 3,100 diagnosed this year. In the summer she went into the emergency room not feeling well - 3 days later she received her diagnosis of ovarian cancer. She is in the middle of her chemotherapy appointments and by the time the walk happens she will have completed further tests to determine her path for surgery and additional treatment. She is an incredibly determined person and our group of friends and family is doing all we can to help her remain positive and strong.
I am doing this walk to raise money for Ovarian Cancer but also awareness of this silent disease. Look at the website for info on the symptoms and if you are concerned please get checked out and follow up!
The Walk celebrates the hope I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease for my sister and other women across the country.
