WELCOME TO THE BEAGLE WALK OF HOPE:
You might not know this but we are very lucky beagles because we have two Mom’s. Just before Christmas 2018, our other Mom 2.0 was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. If you know anything about this illness, women often have no symptoms and are not diagnosed until the disease is in the late stages. After extensive surgery and chemotherapy, our family had a period of recovery that lasted until this past January 2022. Now that this second series of chemo treatments is done, the new tumors have shrunk a bit but are not gone.
The Ovarian Cancer Canada “Walk of Hope” takes place Sunday, Sept 11, 2022. We are working virtually this year for our Beagle Walk of Hope fundraiser.
This is the only walk in Canada to direct all attention and funds towards overcoming ovarian cancer. Every dollar donated to Ovarian Cancer Canada is put to work immediately to help women with ovarian cancer and those at risk to live better and longer lives. We know this from our own experience.
Take note of this: there is no reliable screening test for ovarian cancer. It is the 5th most common cancer for women and the deadliest of all gynecologic cancers. Yet only 2.1% of funds donated for cancer go to ovarian cancer. For all the dog-moms, women rescuers, aunts, grannies, nieces, cousins, families and friends far and wide ... they deserve your attention to this cause and our combined efforts to change things for the better.
