Welcome to My Personal Page!
In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. In 2013, it took my sister Jill. This year, as I have since 2009 when she was first diagnosed, I am walking for HER.
I am walking because ovarian cancer affects communities. It’s certainly touched my life, and it needs to be stopped.
This walk is special to me because it honours women and families touched by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope that I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease. It's also personal because Ovarian Cancer Canada offered great support to my sister and our family.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research. They are working to find an early detection test that will save lives. Like so many women, Jill was already stage 4 when they found the cancer. If an early detection test existed back then, she might still be with us today.
Please support my Walk by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, please consider joining me. Together we can make a difference.
