In honour of Cathie ... Pam's page
So much has changed in the world in the years since my dear friend Cathie Hong-Louie lost her stoic battle against ovarian cancer.
Yet not much has changed for those diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the past fifty years. More than half the woman diagnosed with this most deadly of women’s cancers are expected to die within five years.
Cathie was diagnosed with this most fatal of women's cancers in November of 2014. She faced the horrific disease with staggering bravery. Less than a year later, ovarian cancer took her life at 57.
On a brighter side, with hope and, the power of Cath's community, we have contributed to the push for increased research so that ovarian cancer will benefit from the same advances which have been made from research into other cancers.
In addition, partially funded by the over $33,000 donated 'In Cathie's Honour", Ovarian Cancer Canada has invested in building research capacity, become a founding member of a global coalition and commanded a first ever federal government investment.
Every little bit helps. Please donate what you can.
