This year is more important to me than ever.
I have met too many women diagnosed with ovarian cancer not see this same good fortune. There MUST be a diagnostic! Ovarian Cancer Canada has dedicated themselves to helping us fund research, create support programs/ networks, and resources to help us live better and potentially longer lives. This - is why I volunteer as chair for the Barrie/ Simcoe-Muskoka Walk of Hope.
I will not be leading this year's Walk of Hope as I will be concentrating on fighting ovarian cancer, but those of you who are interested in walking 'in person' are welcome to gather around the Allandale Train Station, just up the road from the South Shore Community Centre. Details are forthcoming. It will be simple this year and you can still participate virtually. The idea is to raise money and raise awareness - no matter whether that is a walk with a group, individually, or virtually. Every penny counts.
Please do participate in this event. For me - and so many - this is personal.
From the bottom of my heart - thank you!
