Welcome to my personal page!
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year.
Each of these women is central to a family. Every one of these women has people who love her. Just being there to support and honor her means everything. That’s why I’m participating with thousands of others at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.
The Walk celebrates the hope I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease. I'm walking for all women and also for my granddaughter that better detection and cures are found and she never has to go through what I've been through.
Please provide your support by giving generously. The walk has returned to Regina so I hope you will consider joining me if you can at the Rick Hansen Park. Information about the walk can be found on the Walk of Hope 2022 Regina web page. The money raised has really helped ovarian cancer patients in Saskatchewan. We were suffering with a lack of gyn/oncologist doctors and thanks to lobbying done by survivors and with your help from the money raised we now have a better number of doctors available. It's the Sask Ovarian Cancers hope to be able to fund trials in our province. I feel so blessed to have been diagnosed early and so far am in my fifth year cancer free!
This year’s goal is to raise $2.1 million. Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness, and fund vital research so that we can change the future for the women we love.
In closing, I know we have many charities that we can support. I hope you will choose this one. Take care!
