Do It For LC

In March 2014 my mom Linda was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, 22 years after having a full hysterectomy. A very short and very difficult 5 months later, she passed away on August 9, 2020. Our family was shaken. How could this have happened to someone with no ovaries? The incredible gynecological oncologists at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre said that even one cell left behind after a hysterectomy can become cancerous and in her very unlucky case, this is what happened.

50% of the women diagnosed this year will not survive 5 years. That statistic has not changed in over 50 years! Like my mom Linda, each of these women is central to a family. That’s why I’m participating with thousands of others at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.

The Walk celebrates the hope I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.

Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity that champions the health and well-being of women with ovarian cancer and others at risk of this disease. Funds will be used to fund vital research, spur advocacy efforts, and provide support so that we can help women with, or at risk of, ovarian cancer live fuller, better, longer lives.

Please provide your support by donating, or better yet, come out and join me on Sunday, September 11, 2022. Together we can make a difference in the lives of these women!
