Ovarian Cancer Canada is the only registered Canadian charity solely
dedicated to overcoming ovarian cancer. It champions the health and
well-being of women with ovarian cancer and others at risk of this
disease while advancing research to save lives.
The Walk of Hope raises vital funds to provide support, raise awareness and fund much needed research into prevention, improve treatments and ultimately, a cure so that we can change the future for the women we love.
This is our 11th year participating in the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope after my sister, Maribel Dizon was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer last December 2011. She passed away last 2017 at the age of 57, She was an inspiration to us and gave me courage and strengthen my faith when I was diagnosed with the same disease last September 2015. It was early detected and now cancer-free!
Walk of Hope 2015, Nintendo of Canada Ltd. surprised me by showing up on the event, wearing their bright yellow Super Mario Maker shirts, who I thought were volunteers! We were awarded with the Top Team Spirit Award. Since then, Nintendo of Canada Ltd. has been very supportive to this mission.
This year, we are also honouring our co-worker, Tara Cantera, who passed away recently with Ovarian Cancer. She was also a supporter of the Walk.
Walk because the women in your life are important to you. Walk for those who have been touched by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope for a future without this disease.
The virtual event or in person (at Queen Elizabeth), will be held on September 11, 2022.
Please provide your support by giving generously. Any dollar counts! Together we can make a difference!
