Let's Help Make Mama B Proud!
Paul McCartney once said he wrote the song Blackbird in order to give people hope. Thousands of women everyday are clinging onto that hope that someday a cure will be found. Unfortunately, one was not found in time to save the life of my beautiful mother, but we still have the chance to help save the lives of thousands of other women. Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year alone. Let’s take a page from my mom’s book and be blackbirds for those who are in need of a bit of hope.
The Walk celebrates the hope we carry with us every day – the hope for a future without this disease. Since 2019, our team has raised over $20,000 for ovarian cancer research and support! This year, I am hoping to bring our total to over $25,000!
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity that champions the health and well-being of women with ovarian cancer and others at risk of this disease. Funds will be used to fund vital research, spur advocacy efforts, and provide support so that we can change the future and help women live fuller, better, longer lives.
Please provide your support by considering a donation. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, come out and join our team. Together we can make a difference and help keep Laurie’s legacy alive.
