Welcome to Les's Personal Page. Today thousands of Canadians are living with ovarian cancer and approximately 3,100 will be diagnosed this year. My wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in June 2021. She did her 6 months of treatment and had surgery in January 2022. Less than a week after surgery,she developed a vicious infection that was introduced to her body during the surgery. In 28 hours, she had left our world. After reading more about the disease, she had symptoms of ovarian cancer for 4 or 5 years at least. She had been misdiagnosed and brushed off, leaving the disease to grow. My wife was a warrior, ready for battle. Her fight got cut short. I'm joining the fight for her now to raise money to help other women who can have a fighting chance. Let’s raise the teal flag and show our support for the women and families affected by ovarian cancer. Together, our fundraising and participation in the Walk will spur advocacy efforts to provide the best possible care, further scientific progress, and ensure that all those diagnosed know that they are not alone.
That’s why I’m joining the thousands of other participants at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope. Precious lives depend on it, and the community deserves it.
