We walk in memory for my daughter Dolores
In 2003 at age 38, my daughter Dolores was diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer.
Dolores was diagnosed while living in Ottawa. She attended her first Walk of Hope in Ottawa. It was a moving and powerful experience for her.
A few months later, she moved back to St. John’s and she realized that Newfoundland and Labrador women with ovarian cancer did not have any similar support here. So, she organized the St. John's Walk of Hope to Newfoundland and Labrador in 2004.
Dolores named her team The Warriors. Dolores found inspiration and strength through the image and the spirit of a “warrior”. During her cancer treatments, surgery and on her darkest days she would visualize her healthy “warrior” white cells taking over the cancer cells. The warrior became a very powerful image for her during her recovery.
Sadly, she died suddenly in 2016. We miss her greatly. We take solace that thousands of Newfoundland and Labrador women with ovarian cancer have come together and thousands of dollars have been raised each year since 2004. All thanks to our warrior Dolores. Please join us on Sunday or make a donation to keep her legacy alive.

Thank you for your support. It means the world to me, and everyone affected by this disease.
