Welcome to the Milano's Page for Ovarian Cancer
My mom, Connie McKee and my sister Karen Farrar spending their last Christmas together. My mom passed on the following Feb 1st and my sister passed three months later on May 8th. Any donations are greatly appreciated, thank you!
Today, thousands of Canadians are living with ovarian cancer and approximately 3,000 will be diagnosed this year. My name is Tracy and I own Milano’s Family Hair Salon. My mother and my sister were both diagnosed with ovarian cancer and were fighting their battles with it together until they passed away three months apart from each other in 2012. We were tested for the gene mutation and we do NOT carry it. We were told an outside source or just coincidence that caused them both to be afflicted with this terrible disease. My sister passed away on May 8th, 2012 which happened to be the first time ever World Ovarian Cancer Day. Another coincidence! When they died there was no assurances for the rest of us that we would be spared, despite not carrying the gene. There just isn’t enough information and we need to change that.
By participating and fundraising for the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope, I’m making ovarian cancer a priority. I'm funding vital research that will save lives, ensuring educational resources and support programs are available for those who need it, and fueling advocacy efforts because everyone deserves to live life to the fullest.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming this disease.
The next big breakthrough in ovarian cancer is around the corner. Please donate to my Walk now or sign up to join me because there simply isn’t time to wait. Together, we can improve outcomes – for good.
Thank you for your support. It means the world to me, and everyone affected by this disease.
