Thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer, and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year. 

In February of 2020, Andrea - one of my very favourite people - became one of them.

What began as a routine physical turned into a dizzying spiral of tests, ultrasounds, CT scans, and finally, a total hysterectomy, appendectomy, and the removal of an ovarian mass roughly the size of a football.

At the time, Andrea was barely 42, and an energetic healthy mom to a 4-year old. It seemed surreal, but as we learned, an all-too-common story.

Andrea's diagnosis, Stage 1 ovarian cancer, is very rare given there is no screening test for ovarian cancer, and it often goes undetected until later stages. But we can change that. We have to! 

Last year, our team - Teal Good Inc. - raised just over $17,000 making us one of the top fundraising teams in Ottawa. 

Since 2020 we've raised more than $45,000, every cent of which goes to Ovarian Cancer Canada. 

Thanks to many of you I was one of the top individual fundraisers in Ottawa last year.

This September I hope to raise at least $1,750.00 - and I hope I can count on your support again.

Our team is walking for all women with ovarian cancer, those in treatment, and the families affected by this disease who relentlessly rise to challenge after challenge. They deserve our support -- and so much more.
