This is in memory of my mom - Julia Taylor
This cause means so much to me. Thank you for your support!
As many of you know, I lost my mom to ovarian cancer. To date, it is the greatest loss of my life. After a year and a half, I am still very emotional about it.
Ovarian cancer has no screening tool. By the time that ovarian cancer is detected, it most often in Stage 3 or 4 and is generally deadly. After diagnosis, the net five-year survival rate is only 45 per cent. You read that correctly. After diagnosis, only 45 women out of 100 will be alive after 5 years. These survival rates have not changed in years.
Through fundraising for the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope, I’m determined to help improve outcomes for all those affected by the disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming this disease.
I thank everyone for your support - whether financial or through your cheering for me. Love to you all and may we make a small dent in this cause.
And if you want, you can walk with me on September 10th!
Angela
