Team Nancy

We are walking this year for Nancy, who was diagnosed two and a half years ago with ovarian cancer. Sadly this year, we are not walking in solidarity with Nancy, but in her memory. This year she was taken from us by this disease, leaving a hole in all our hearts.

Nancy always set an example of helping others. Part of her legacy, we hope, is to raise money that can fund research so that someday no one else will be dealt the same blow as Nancy and our family was with her diagnosis.

Last year, Nancy wrote a bit about her journey, and why raising money for Ovarian Cancer Canada was so important to her.

---------------

My name is Nancy. I am living with Ovarian Cancer. One in 75 women will face the same challenge.  The day I was diagnosed, my life changed completely, as did the lives of everyone close to me.

As I navigate my way along this journey, I am learning just how little we know about the disease, early detection, symptoms, treatments, options. It is with this in mind that I am doing what I can to help raise awareness, educate women, and support much needed research.

I am very fortunate to have a wonderful family who are taking up this challenge with me and walking on my behalf in the Walk of Hope. Every step they take brings us one step closer.

You can help us by making a donation or joining the team.

For all the women living with this disease and all the families affected by it, Thank You for your support.

This year, we want to help build on her legacy by raising more money for research at Ovarian Cancer Canada. With more research come better treatments and knowledge on how to find and prevent diseases like this one. We hope that with your help some day women will no longer have to face what Nancy did. The best legacy we can leave for her, is one where no other family has to walk in someone’s memory.
