2023 Walk - Vancouver and Lower Mainland, BC

MarLen Super Warriors

Ovarian Cancer Canada is the only registered Canadian charity solely dedicated to overcoming ovarian cancer.  It champions the health and
well-being of women with ovarian cancer and others at risk of this
disease while advancing research to save lives.

The Walk of Hope raises vital funds to provide support, raise awareness and fund much needed research into prevention, improve treatments and ultimately, a cure, so that we can change the future for the women we love.

This is our 12th year participating in the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope after my sister, Maribel Dizon, was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer last December 2011.  She passed away last 2017 at the age of 57.  She gave me courage and strengthen my faith when I was  diagnosed with the same disease.  It was early detected and now cancer-free!

September 2015, 12 days after my surgery, I continued my advocacy with my family and friends.  At the walk, my co-workers surprised me with their presence wearing yellow Mario shirts which I thought were OCC volunteers!

Since then, Nintendo of Canada Ltd, has been very supportive of this worthy cause.  Sadly, last year, we lost a co-worker,Tara Cantera, because of Ovarian Cancer.

Walk because the women in your life are important to you.  Walk for those who have been touched by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope for a future without this disease.

The Walk of Hope, will be held on September 10, 2023 at Queen Elizabeth Park (4600 Cambie Street, Vancouver).

Please provide your support by giving generously. Every contribution counts! Together we can make a difference!

Thank you!

Marilyn
