Team Aparna

Sun. Sept. 10, 2023 - On this day, we should be planning for a big 48th birthday party for Aparna (Annu) Sharma - our dear Daughter, Sister, Auntie and Friend. Instead, we reflect on the past 10 years of life without her.  We can only imagine her in our lives now and cherish the memories we have of her.  Instead of celebrating her birthday on Sun. Sept 10, we will walk in her honour and memory and raise awareness and funds for Ovarian Cancer Canada.

We miss Annu every single day.  She should be here with us today, but she is not, just like so many other women who have fought this same battle.

In February of 2012, Annu was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. This was a complete shock to our whole family. She fought a courageous battle for a year as we rallied around her and supported her. We were devastated to lose this amazing soul in Feb. 2013. Our lives have changed forever and we miss her dearly every day.

Today, thousands of Canadians are living with ovarian cancer and approximately 3,000 will be diagnosed this year. It’s time to pick up the pace for ovarian cancer. Enough is enough and I’m determined to improve outcomes for all those affected by the disease.

By participating and fundraising for the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope, we making ovarian cancer a priority. We are funding vital research that will save lives, ensuring educational resources and support programs are available for those who need it, and fueling advocacy efforts because everyone deserves to live life to the fullest.
Every dollar we raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming this disease.
The next big breakthrough in ovarian cancer is around the corner. Please donate to my Walk now or sign up to join me because there simply isn’t time to wait. Together, we can improve outcomes – for good.

Thank you for your support. It means the world to us, and everyone affected by this disease.
