Tambre Persson Family and Friends

On September 8th, our family is walking in the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope in honour of our sister/aunt/great aunt Lauren and our mother/grandmother/great grandmother Sarah Velma Peebles Tambre.

Lauren was diagnosed with High Grade Serous Cell Carcinoma in July of 2022 and for the next 8 months went through many tests, surgery, chemotherapy, drug therapy and everything else imaginable. Sadly, after being in remission for 6 months, the cancer reoccurred. She is now being treated for metastatic ovarian cancer and has completed another round of chemotheraphy. Most of the tumours are under control; however, the two remaining tumors have begun to grow again. Lauren will be starting targeted cancer therapy with PARP inhibitors. This has been a devastating proess, consuming her entire life as she struggles to maintain good physical and mental health, while living with cancer.

We are also walking in memory of our mother/grandmother/great grandmother Sarah Velma Peebles Tambre, who passed in 1975 due to complications with Ovarian Cancer.

Today, thousands of Canadians are living with ovarian cancer and approximately 3,000 will be diagnosed this year.

By participating and fundraising for the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope, we will help forward the vital research that will save lives, ensuring educational resources and support programs are available for those who need it, and fueling advocacy efforts because everyone deserves to live life to the fullest.

Every dollar raised supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming this disease.

Join us in the walk or show your support by donating. It means the world to us and everyone affected by this disease.
