It's that time of year again, for the 2024 Val's Victorious Gals Walk of Hope for Ovarian Cancer on Sunday September 8th.  I am hoping that you will join (rejoin) my team this year.  Please join me!

Val's Victorious Gals will walk as a group again this year, along Burlington's waters edge at Spencer Smith Park.  It is such a beautiful peaceful walk along the boardwalk.  Details are as follows,

Location: Spencer Smith Park

9:00am: Arrivals and Welcome

9:45am: Opening Ceremonies

10:00am: Walk/Run Begins

11:15am: Closing Ceremonies

I would like to invite you back to our house afterwards for a luncheon on the patio. This year we are going to do it a bit differently -  It’s going to be potluck. We will supply burgers and sausages (vegan as well) refreshing beverages and snacks.  If you would like to bring either a salad, fruit or veggie, or something else  that would be grateful.  As always my sister Lisa provides us with a wonderful dessert. 

I truly appreciate your support throughout my journey with this disease.  I started my battle October 2014 and for the last 10 years I have been  standing strong due to advances made through research.  The medication however that I have been on for the last five years is no longer working and as of recent have restarted chemotherapy treatment once again. I continue to remain optimistic, I will beat this once again!

Now more than ever we need to continue the fundraising for research to be able to put an end to this disease.

Just a bit about this so worthy cause:

Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 3,100 will be diagnosed this year. 

Each of these women is central to a family. Every one of these women has people who love her. Just being there to support and honor her means everything. That’s why our team is participating with thousands of others at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.

The Walk celebrates the hope we carry with us every day – the hope for a future without this disease.

Every dollar we raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness, and fund vital research so that we can change the future for the women we love.

So let's do this ladies!  Sunday September 8th!!!
