In support of Ovarian Cancer Canada

1500 mile route for walk in memory of Jennifer

Land's End to John o'Groats

In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. This year, I am taking action.

I am fundraising because ovarian cancer affects communities. It’s certainly touched my life, and it needs to be stopped. This event is special to me because it honours women and families touched by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope that I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.

Ovarian cancer stole my marvellous, feisty sister Jennifer two years ago - a woman who loved the outdoors, friends, family and community. We miss her dearly. Jennifer was one of the most energetic and positive people I have ever known. She was the kind of person who inspired others to do more for others. She was unstoppable.

My journey from Land’s End to John o’Groats, the length of Britain, started in Cornwall in March 2018. I paused it in May 2018 just over the Scottish border… due to various circumstances…

I am resuming the walk now, from Annan, Scotland, to John o’Groats (820 km). I aim to finish on 3 June, then to nip back to southwestEngland and walk the section I left out (200 km) when I injured my shoulder on Bodmin Moor. The final walk will have totalled about 2,400 km, over five times longer than any other hike I've done, and I would really like to use this challenge as an opportunity to help others.

I wish to express my heartfelt thanks to those who have already so generously given to this cause. It has helped spur me on!

Every dollar I raise here supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research.

Together we can make a difference.

Please support my walk for this cause by giving generously.
Please also join me on my journey by watching for updates on this page and on Twitter @CANUKwalker.

THANK YOU!

Tim
